The Very Revd Dr David Hoyle, MA - Dean of Bristol Cathedral
David is a Governor at both Bristol Cathedral Choir School and Cathedral Primary School.
He has worked as a curate in Cambridge, as Dean of Magdalene College, Cambridge, Vicar of Christ Church, Southgate, in North London and as Director of Ministry in the Diocese of Gloucester and Residentiary Canon of Gloucester Cathedral. He has held a number of extra responsibilities in the wider and national church, including a period as Secretary to the Theological Group of the House of Bishops. He has been active in links with dioceses abroad. He is a published theologian and historian.
In addition to being on the CPS and BCCS Governing Bodies, he has served as a governor in three other schools, as chair of a SACRE (Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education) Group and as a representative on a Borough Education Committee.
David was born in Rossendale, Lancashire and moved to Hertfordshire as a child. He was educated at Watford Boys' Grammar School, Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, and Ripon College, Cuddesdon. He is married to a Primary Headteacher. They have a son and a daughter.
