The Choristers enjoyed one of the highlights of their year, the Choirs Schools’ Association Sports Day. Held this year at Wells Cathedral School, the event involved football and netball matches against other choir schools in the CSA’s western division.

BCCS Chorister Tutor Sarah Jenkinson said: “It was a really fun day, which culminated in a very special evensong in Wells Cathedral with 150 choristers in total: the sound was amazing.” For this year’s event, Principal Neil Blundell accompanied the choristers and took the opportunity to meet with the Wells Head, Elizabeth Cairncross.

This term, the Choristers also enjoyed participating in a pancake party – including races! – organised by Bristol Cathedral.

The first football match was against Hereford, (also in yellow shirts!). It was a very a close game heading for a goalless draw before Hereford sneaked a very late winner.

The second match against St John's Cardiff, (in the red strip), was also a close affair and we took the lead! Unfortunately they hit back with two goals and, despite at least three cracking efforts on the Cardiff goal and lots of pressure by the boys, we were unable to equalise.

The third and final match was against Wells (in pale blue) and it started badly as we had too many players on the pitch - while our defenders were debating who was going to go off, a Wells boy ran through and scored! With the correct number of boys we did manage to equalise but it went downhill after that and unfortunately Wells scored three more.
