Application Form - Music Aptitude Test

The music aptitude test for Year 7 entry in 2027 will take place on Saturday 26th September 2026 at Trinity School, Lockleaze.

The application form for children to sit the music aptitude test for Year 7 2027 entry will open around 1st July.

The offer of a music specialist place means you will receive:

    1. A personalised music plan, starting with an interview with the Director of Specialism.  This will be used to discuss your hopes and aspirations and to put in the necessary steps and targets throughout your music education.
    2. 50% discount on instrumental or voice lessons for one study for the first year.
    3. Priority access to masterclasses with visiting professionals from UK Conservatoires and orchestras.
    4. Participation in specialist music projects. Last year, this included working with the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama.

We would expect you to be involved in at least one co-curricular music group.

Students who enter the school as music specialists are joined by the choristers, who also access many of the above opportunities.  This creates a dynamic and gifted cohort of students who enjoy working together.
